Engineer Hugh Amos has been awarded the first of 11 scholarships to study an MBA at the University of New South Wales’ Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM).
Thanks to the scholarship, Mr Amos’s full tuition fees were taken care of along with a stipend to complete a full-time MBA.

The scholarship also includes an international exchange at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, one of the world’s leading business schools, as well as access to an exclusive business network.
“We’re thrilled that this scholarship has enabled Hugh to get off to a flying start in the MBA program,” UNSW Business School Deputy Dean Professor Julie Cogin said.
“As we celebrate AGSM’s 40th anniversary this year and commemorate our history, I can honestly say it’s scholarships like this that really make a difference to the lives of our students and future leaders in business.
“This year AGSM climbed another 12 places in the FT Global MBA Rankings, which shows our commitment to providing a rigorous academic program that offers a rich learning environment and strong international networks.
“Generous donations from the Luminis Foundation will help in providing these invaluable international experiences for our students,” she said.
UNSW Business School Dean Chris Styles said Mr Amos was an outstanding candidate who will be a great ambassador for the School.
“Through the generosity of the Luminis Foundation, this prestigious scholarship will help create some of the best of the next generation of outstanding global business leaders over the next decade,” he said.
“Scholarships like this one enable outstanding candidates to benefit from life changing programs that they would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience.”
Launching the scholarship in 2016, Simon Mordant, Executive Co-Chairman of Luminis Partners said the aim of the scholarship was to put two world-class institutions together so that the student could receive a broad experience both in Australia and in the United States.
“We believe that education and innovation are fundamental to all we do and we are overjoyed to be partnering with UNSW and Wharton to create this long-term scholarship program in business innovation,” he said.
