Australian National University Offers MBA Scholarship To Back Future Business Leaders

Australian National University MBA students will be automatically in the running to receive one of 30 scholarships with a combined value of up to $1 million.

The Research School of Management Master of Business Administration (MBA) Scholarship was designed to attract students who were looking to increase and improve their knowledge and experience in management.

According to the university’s outline of the scholarship, its financial support was intended to go towards helping middle managers acquire “essential business and management knowledge and skills to advance into, and thrive in, senior management roles”.

The scholarship will be provided to up to 30 MBA students and is made available to every new intake to a study period – no application is required and merely enrolling as an MBA student is an automatic application to the scholarship.

Covering up to anywhere from 25% to 100% of a ANU MBA student’s tuition, the scholarship is all-encompassing to both domestic and international students, full time and part time. While initial scholarship recipient selection is made on the basis of work experience and academic merit, ANU also selects specific diversity categories each year, spreading the focus across all professions and walks of life to ensure all types of MBA student have the chance to study without financial constraints.

These categories include Indigenous Australians, women, regional Australia, private and public sector workers, the not for profit sector and ANU alumni.

“Selection is made on the basis of work experience and academic merit. Other factors such as diversity and inclusion and Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) results, if available, will also be taken into account,” ANU’s conditions stated.

“The Research School of Management will identify specific diversity categories each year, based on the needs to enrich student cohort and learning, aligned with the University’s education strategies and goals.”

The university’s next MBA round will launch in February 2019. Potential students will have until September 16 to apply, with acceptances into the program expected in October this year.
