The Australian Institute of Business has become the first business school to receive an accreditation by the Australian HR Institute (AHRI).
The institute is the professional association for human resource practitioners in Australia and is tasked with ensuring HR professionals and people managers have the essential prerequisite skills and knowledge required to work in the HR profession.
The prestigious accreditation was given to AIB for its specialised MBA in Human Resource Management and will become official from January 2019.
AHRI CEO and AIB Industry Guest Lecturer Lyn Goodear said the association was delighted to welcome AIB as an AHRI accredited education provider.
“Accreditation is an important factor to consider when weighing up study options, and it is our job as an accrediting body to help instil confidence in the education choices of HR practitioners.
“AHRI goes through a highly rigorous process to ensure the academic integrity of the courses we accredit, which involves mapping course curriculums to AHRI’s respected Model of Excellence,” she said.
The business school’s CEO Paul Wappett said the AHRI accreditation would give AIB’s students greater professional recognition and enhanced credibility as managers in all fields.
“We are very proud of our MBA programme’s alignment with industry as it empowers our students in their workplaces, as well as prepares them for what the future of work may bring,” Paul says.
AIB delivers its MBA 100 percent online to enable busy professionals to study while they work and apply the learning immediately in the workplace.
With AHRI affiliated academics who are HR practitioners teaching the MBA courses, AIB’s HR-based program features accredited HR specialist subjects which include Strategic Human Resource Development, Managing People in a Global Context and Managing Change.
Graduates of the AHRI Practising Certification Program (APC) can receive up to three subject credits for the AIB MBA. Conversely, AIB MBA HR graduates who have met the requisite work experience requirements will be eligible for direct entry into the Unit four Capstone – Applied Project in Organisational Capability of the AHRI Practising Certification (APC) Program.
Completion of the Capstone project will award AHRI certification.
