Graduate Management Association of Australia Ltd (GMAA) has laid the foundations for some major changes over the next 12 months with the re-election of Maxwell Gratton as National President and Dr Darryl Gauld OAM as National Auxiliary President.
The GMAA is Australia’s peak body for MBAs and has been advancing Business Administration for over 40 years. Initially established as the Graduate Management Association of NSW in 1978, the organisation went national in 1993 through the amalgamation of numerous other likeminded state organisations.
“It is an honour to have been re-elected as the National President of the GMAA. Under my leadership we will build on the successes of 2019,” Mr Grattan said.
“Membership of the GMAA is quintessentially vital for all MBAs who are committed to excellence and continued professional development. Without it, they are lacking,” Dr Darryl Gauld said.
Under the leadership of Mr Gratton and Dr Gauld, the GMAA introduced the inaugural Graduate Management Awards that saw the University of Queensland’s Bianca Goebel recognised as Australia’s Most Outstanding MBA Graduate.
Other winners included University of Wollongong’s Sriramprasanth Sivasubramani for Most Innovative Project and Dr. Ryan Storr from Victoria University for the Most Outstanding Doctorate.
After engagement with many of its members and stakeholders, the GMAA is in the process of revamping and relaunching its 5-Star MBA Ratings under the superintendence of Kyle Arthars. The organisation also reduced individual memberships fees, and provided a major new inclusion – complimentary student membership for its university/educational institution members.
2020 is expected to be another year of development and growth from the GMAA with an organisational name change in the wings to reflect an Australasian Regional focus, along with a further consolidation as the peak body for MBAs.
