The Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) has climbed nine places in the latest Global MBA Ranking for 2021 compiled by UK-based FT (Financial Times).
AGSM @ UNSW rose to 79 on the FT list, which is one of the most highly regarded of all rankings and is based on surveys of business schools and their graduates of 2017.
MBAs are assessed according to the career progression of alumni, the school’s idea generation and the diversity of students and faculty.
AGSM @ UNSW MBA graduates reported a salary of $US108,376 ($141,252 AUD) three years after graduating, up 66% on their pre-MBA salary.
The Melbourne Business School maintained its place the top-100 with a ranking of 87, seven places lower than its 2020 result. Melbourne Business School grads were paid an average $US108,788, up 64% on their pre-MBA salary.

Macquarie Business School dropped out of the top 100 after placing 97th in 2020.
Globally, France’s Insead took out the number one rank after placing fourth last year. Insead, whose graduates recorded an average salary of $US188,432, was followed by the London Business School in second and the University of Chicago: Booth in third.
Last year’s top three – Harvard, Wharton and Stanford – did not participate in FT rankings this year.
The FT’s rankings showed demand for MBAs stayed strong around the world and the salaries of alumni remained resilient when they were surveyed from September to October 2020.
