MBA Australasia (MBAus) is proud to announce today that the Graduate Management Awards (GMA) will be returning in 2021.
These annual awards, from MBAus, provide recognition for outstanding members of the MBA community, and shine a spotlight on them, their career, and their achievements.
Unlike most MBA awards, the GMA from MBAus are not limited to specific universities or institutions, and are open to applicants from across the whole Australasian region.
“I am thrilled to be able to launch the 2021 GMA from MBA Australasia,” said Chris Jacko, Auxiliary President of MBAus.
“The continued disruption caused by COVID-19 provides an interesting opportunity for MBAus to reshape the categories and criteria for our annual awards.
“While maintaining our flagship award, the Most Outstanding MBA, as well as expanding an existing category to encompass Innovation and Entrepreneurship, we have also added two new awards this year.
“Beyond simply the traditional definitions of success, we wanted to celebrate and support MBA graduates making a difference in their community, the NFP sector, or through significant environmental or social benefit. The introduction of our new Community Impact award will help to shine a spotlight on current MBA students or graduates since 2016 who are using their MBA experience to benefit others.”
Also added to the categories of awards this year is the new award for the Most Inspirational MBA Lecturer. In recognition of the crucial role teachers play in the MBA journey, the award for Most Inspirational MBA Lecturer recognises an academic who has gone above and beyond to help teach and inspire their MBA students.
“The award for the Most Inspirational MBA Lecturer represents the first time in the history of the GMA that an award is being conferred on a member of faculty and serves as an acknowledgement, and recognition, of the role lecturers have in the MBA community,” said Chris Jacko.
“We await with eager anticipation, for the submissions in the four categories of the 2021 Graduate Management Awards. The caliber of nominations in previous years has been exceptional, and we expect the addition of the two new categories this year to further increase the quantity and quality of nominations from across the MBA community,” said Maxwell Gratton, President of MBAus.
“With nominations now open, I encourage all in the MBA community to think about those who are worthy of recognition, and nominate them. Now is the time to shine a light on the terrific achievements of MBAs, and the significant contributions they have made to business, innovation, entrepreneurship, and our community.”
Nominations for the GMA are open from now until 31 August 2021 through the MBAus website. The four categories are:
- Most Outstanding MBA Graduate
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship
- Community Impact
- Most Inspirational MBA Lecturer
