Bond University’s Faculty of Business has enhanced its credentials as one of the Australia’s top business schools, earning initial accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International).
AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education, and has been earned by less than five percent of the world’s business programs.
Bond’s Dean of Business Professor Mark Hirst said the AACSB Accreditation highlighted the Faculty’s commitment to delivering high quality programs, research and community engagement at internationally recognised levels.
“This accreditation provides our current students, future students and stakeholders with the assurance that the quality of our teaching and curricula is of the highest-calibre internationally and that our faculty, people and processes are working together to produce outstanding graduates,” said Professor Hirst.
“We are very proud to be joining the elite group of international AACSB accredited institutions and look forward to the learnings and continuous improvement ahead, which will ensure we maintain our position alongside the world’s best business schools.
Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting. Today, there are more than 687 business schools in 45 countries and territories that maintain AACSB Accreditation. Similarly, 182 institutions maintain an additional specialised AACSB Accreditation for their accounting programs.
Professor Hirst said AACSB accreditation signalled the Faculty was delivering on its mission statement of ‘building tomorrow’s business leaders, one by one’.
“At Bond, we pride ourselves on our small class sizes and low student-to-staff ratio that enable an individualised approach to learning and a high level of engagement between our Faculty and students.
“Our students benefit from being part of an international cohort from over 80 countries, which ensures that diverse perspectives and ideas from around the world are shared, creating a truly international education and global career opportunities.”
“Underpinning our student learning experience is the world-class research currently being undertaken by the Faculty’s academic staff and PhD students.”
Prior to Bond obtaining AACSB Accreditation, the University ranked number 1 for satisfaction, in the top 5 value for money, and top 10 for research in Australian Financial Review’s 2013 BOSS Survey – Australia’s only independent national ranking of MBA programs. Bond’s MBA ranked in the top five in the country and its Executive MBA in the top three.
