Deakin MBA Course Structure
The MBA course structure provides an integrated experience designed to reflect the foundational business knowledge required of an MBA program, career development and employability, leadership and management skills, and an integrative capstone experience.
To complete the Master of Business Administration, students must attain a total of 12 credit points, consisting of 8 credit points of core units and 4 credit points of elective units and may include a specialisation. Students must also complete three 0 credit point units. Most units (think of units as ‘subjects’) are equal to 1 credit point.
Electives may be selected from an MBA specialisation or from any postgraduate units offered by the University, subject to eligibility.
Accreditation
By choosing appropriate units within the Master of Business Administration, students may satisfy the professional recognition requirements of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA).
Deakin MBA Entry Requirements
Deakin University offers admission to postgraduate courses through a number of Admission categories. In all categories of admission, selection is based primarily on academic merit as indicated by an applicant’s previous academic record. All applicants must meet the minimum English language requirements and have a:
- Bachelor degree in any discipline and three years relevant work experience (in a managerial or professional role), or
- Graduate Certificate in a related discipline and five years relevant work experience*, or
- Graduate Diploma equivalent (professional pathways)
