The University of Melbourne’s part-time MBA gives students access to one of Australia’s top-ranked MBA programs and the ability to study at your own pace. Course Structure

The part-time MBA structure allows students to study at their own pace and exit at four different stages with a degree. Students require 218.75 credit points to complete the program, with each subject/course qualifying for 12.5 credit points.

Students will complete the Leadership and Business Essentials units and then choose from a number of core and elective subjects including:

  • Managerial Ethics and Business Environment (6.25 = 0.5 subject)
  • Data Analysis (12.5)
  • Managing People (12.5)
  • Marketing (12.5)
  • Financial Accounting (12.5)
  • Finance (12.5)
  • Managerial Economics (12.5)
  • Operations (12.5)
  • Current Business Issues (12.5)
  • Business Strategy (12.5)
  • MBA Capstone (6.25 = 0.5 subject)

After completing 25 credit points, students qualify for a Professional certificate; after 50 credit points, they qualify for a Graduate Certificate; after 112.5 credit points, they qualify for a Graduate Diploma; and, after 218.75 credit points, they qualify for the part-time MBA

Entry Requirements

To apply, you should have:

  • A good GMAT score – as a guide, recent students have achieved an average of 680 or higher. Please be advised that the GMAT is compulsory and that we do not accept the GRE.
  • A CV, showing a minimum of two years’ work experience
  • Academic transcript (and any postgraduate academic transcripts if completed)
  • Evidence of citizenship or residency
  • An excellent command of English (copy of IELTS or TOEFL score, where required*)
  • Personal statements relating to your goals and how you can contribute to the program
  • The names and contact details of two professional referees.
