Course Overview

The University of Newcastle MBA (Global) program is available to students with a Bachelor degree in any discipline, but with little or no work experience. Students will study a standard broad-based business curriculum since many will have neither a first degree in business or commerce nor work experience in which they have developed these basic competencies. They also seek opportunities to build their practical business skills and experience; hence this program has compulsory work integrated learning and internship components.

The program provides support to students to reflect on their own strengths and development needs, and to build personal skills in leadership, problem-solving, and communication. The MBA (Global) allows students to build confidence and capability to operate in a wide range of countries. The typical MBA (Global) graduate would seek a graduate entry position in a multi-national enterprise or corporation and the program should prepare them for this career. The MBA (Global) is designed for individuals who are recent graduates in any discipline who have limited work experience, who are looking to develop their business leadership and management skills.

The MBA (Global) will provide students with an in-depth understanding of business globalisation and its complex effect on stakeholders, societies and economies and develop their global mindset, with the interpersonal skills that allow them to operate across countries, cultures and contexts.

In a complex, changing world, leaders of the future require the ability at a local, national and international level to see the ‘big picture’. Increasingly, employers are seeking individuals who are managers and global-thought leaders with the ability bring together the resources and innovative potential of an organisation to deliver sophisticated, successful international strategies.

Newcastle Business School

Students at Newcastle Business School benefit from a curriculum which is international in focus, and challenges them to understand and question the global economy and society of which they are part.
