Aspiring business leaders worldwide have the opportunity to apply for the newly created CEIBS GRE Full Scholarship launched in collaboration with ETS China.
ETS China, a subsidiary of ETS based in Beijing, and the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) have reached an agreement to establish the CEIBS GRE Full Scholarship, to be awarded to a 2023 Master of Business Administration (MBA) applicant. The scholarship covers full tuition and aims to cultivate outstanding young talent in business schools.
Although the global economy continues to feel effects of the pandemic and economic downturns, and considering the countercyclical pattern of business education applications, the enthusiasm of young people to improve their competencies and personal growth through business education remains strong. Amongst applicants applying to graduate-level institutions worldwide through the GRE® General Test during the 2020–2021 academic year, 10% said they planned to major in business. Amongst them, the proportion of Chinese students reached 20%. In the past five years, an increasing number of Chinese candidates have used GRE scores to apply to business schools, at a growth rate of 66%.
“Through the strategic cooperation agreement with CEIBS, ETS China will fully utilise its strengths to support the school’s mission to cultivate future leaders with an international vision,” said Miranda Wang, Managing Director of ETS China. “The GRE test has a large number of candidates with diverse backgrounds, which will provide support for CEIBS to recruit applicants with the diversity and competencies required by business schools. Additionally, based on the cooperation network established by ETS China and global institutions, especially with more than 1,300 business schools, we will further our discussion with CEIBS on trends of business education and talent training to promote business education development in China.”
The first CEIBS GRE Full Scholarship will be open to students who have valid GRE General Test scores and have successfully been admitted to the CEIBS 2025 full-time MBA program (2023 intake). In the future, CEIBS and ETS China will carry out further cooperation in the fields of applicant evaluation, promoting business education development and talent cultivation.
“CEIBS’s vision is to integrate education, research and business practices from China and the world, promote the creation and dissemination of knowledge, facilitate China’s socioeconomic development, and become the world’s most respected international business school,” said Professor Ding Yuan, Vice President and Dean of CEIBS. “The diversity and globalisation of talents are crucial for the school’s development. As a subsidiary of the world’s largest nonprofit educational assessment and research organisation, ETS China and its access to a global community of candidates provide support for CEIBS in identifying qualified applicants. We look forward to contributing to the cultivation of outstanding talents through the cooperation between the two parties.”
With the prevalence of online MBA programs, this new scholarship presents a fantastic opportunity for future Australian business leaders to jumpstart their formal leadership journey.
