Venture capitalist and MBA Chris Golis will headline the 2014 Graduate Management Association of Australia (GMAA) National Conference in Melbourne on July 4.
Mr Golis will be one of many top-ranked speakers delivering presentations on this year’s conference theme, ‘Leadership Challenges’.
During his 23-year career as a venture capitalist, Mr Golis raised $150 million for five funds and became a director of over 30 private and public companies. He has a Cambridge University degree and an MBA from the London Business School.
Now the CEO of Emotional Intelligence Courses, he will deliver a presentation on the importance of practical emotional intelligence and how it can impact leadership.
Other presentations will include:
- A keynote address from Craig Dent, CEO of State Trustees – ‘Authentic Leadership: Are you courageous enough to be yourself?’
- Professor Jon Billsberry, Deakin Business School – ‘Performance from Performances: A new approach to leadership development’
- Professor Russell Hoye, Director La Trobe Sport – ‘Leadership challenges in the sports world’
- Jon Manning, Founder of PricingProphets.com/Sans-Prix.com – ‘Pricing leadership’
The conference will conclude with a panel discussion with the speakers taking questions from the audience.
The GMAA 2014 Conference Dinner will be held prior to the conference at the Blue Diamond Club on July 3 from 7pm. The guest speaker will be AFL Premiership Coach, Mick Malthouse.
The GMAA Conference provides Australia’s current and future industry leaders as well as business school academics the forum for sharing their knowledge and ideas that will shape Australia’s future leaders.
The conference will be held at the La Trobe Business School, Level 20, 360 Collins Street, Melbourne on July 4 from 9.30am to 5pm.
